Serie: Divinicus Nex Chronicles #1
Release Year: 2012
Stars: 4/5

For seventeen-year-old Aurora Lahey, survival is a lifestyle.
DEMONIC DESTINY
Aurora has the crappiest superpower on the planet. And it's just unleashed a hit squad from hell. Demons are on the hunt, salivating to carve her carcass into confetti.

CHARISMATIC KILLERS
The Hex Boys--mysterious, hunky, and notorious for their trails of destruction--have the answers Aurora needs to survive. But their overload of deadly secrets and suspicious motives makes trusting them a potentially fatal move.

LETHAL ALLIES
The battle to save her family, herself, and stop demonic domination may cost Aurora everything worth living for, and force her to reveal her own dark secrets. But no worries. She needs the Hex Boys to pull this off, and, chances are, teaming up with these guys will get her killed anyway.

It took me a few pages to really get in the book, but man what a book! It was really funny. I would like to say first that I love that the family is included in this one. In most books of this genre the family is left clueless and you don't read much about it. In this one though they are all included. The main character, Aurora (beautiful name!!), doens't know what she is, only that demons are hunting her. I instantly liked Aurora, she is very funny. Quote:

"His fingers dug into my flesh and pulled my upper body forward. I wondered with vague panic why I wasn't pushing away from the kiss he was about to pull me into--when his torso tightened and he flung me into the air.

Hmmm. Read that one wrong."

After that there are a lot of introductions made with different characters, the hex boys yammi, and with a bit of history. I found it easier to put down the book in the beginning. But later when the book was really starting to get on with it I couldn't put the book down. It was hilarious and hottt hott hott with the yammi hex boys. Still I found that there was a lot to take in for a first book, not that it answered every question, cause I've a lot remain, but a lot of characters, a bit history, the developments etc. But the main point here, I really liked the book! I love all the developments with all the characters, the actions, the possibly romance (thank god not a love triangle, I'm kind of fed up with that), the whole story of Aurora and her 'gift' and what she may be. I really can't wait for the next one! I want to read more and more about Aurora and her hex boys, so I want to say that this book is worth your time!

Soooo after a very very long wait I finally got to read the second installment in the amazing series of A&E Kirk! I really love books with a strong main character, who's not a whiny character. This book has it all, the action, the humor, the romance, the hilarious and great dialogues. I really find these books amazing! Luckily the book is pretty long, not nearly long enough hihi, but it read away quickly. I think I finished the book in 2 days. The Hex boys are as always very lovely, I really don't know which one I like the most, they are quite something. They are really cool and funny.. and did I mention sexy?

I think what makes the book so special is that it's not always about the love in the book, there is alot of action and the story develops great! I just want to know more and more about the world, the stories, the people and yeah sure the love development. The book wasn't all what I was expecting, it was even better. I really didn't think it good be better after the first one, but really the story is just great. All I can say now is that you just have to read it!

When Davy Hamilton's tests come back positive for Homicidal Tendency Syndrome (HTS)-aka the kill gene-she loses everything. Her boyfriend ditches her, her parents are scared of her, and she can forget about her bright future at Juilliard. Davy doesn't feel any different, but genes don't lie. One day she will kill someone.

Only Sean, a fellow HTS carrier, can relate to her new life. Davy wants to trust him; maybe he's not as dangerous as he seems. Or maybe Davy is just as deadly.

This book was a fun and quick read. I really liked the story and the characters. It wasn't really a special story or something, most of the things where kind of predictable. It didn't really matter in this book though, the story was a great read. It was a fun dystopian to read, which made it hard for me to put the book down.

Davy is the typical rich girl with great boyfriend/friends. Then it all comes to an end because she's a HTS carrier. You read about her struggles, about her denial and I could so relate with her. Sure she's a bit naive, but aren't the characters in book usually? I was kind of sympathetic toward Davy. Everybody leaves her, nobody trusts her anymore. You read about her personal growth and how her whole world is changing.

I didn't like every characters. I mean her boyfriend and friend where really bad people. Which stuck out most was her brother, Mitchell. He stood by her no matter what. Even her parent where against her. I think it made Mitchel a really sincere character.

There was also a love story, but I didn't mind that much. I liked the story better, than I did the love story within. So for a fun quick read, I definitely recommend this one!

After book 1 (Review) I couldn't wait to start this book. I'm always kind of afraid that de second book is a huge dissappointment. I mean you know the characters, you know the world, so it has to be al about the story, what's going to happen next? Luckily this book didn't dissappoint at all! I loved it as much as the first one.

What I love most about the serie is the characters. There are many characters in the book, but it doesn't matter, you're going to love them all. The interactions with everyone is just great. I couldn't get enough of the book! And Megan & Simon, even though the romance isn't what the book is about, there is still romance there. I just loved how awkward the tension between the two is, how they didn't know how to handle everything.

The story is very unique and exceptional. You can't compare it with anything I've read. You just have to read it for yourselves. I look forward to another book with all these fascinating individuals.Sharhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15988624081274136548noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1908437033065171223.post-9837696913621838372014-09-04T14:55:00.001+02:002014-09-04T14:56:04.298+02:00Written in Red - Anne Bishop
Serie: The Others #1
Release year: 2013
Stars: 5/5

As a cassandra sangue, or blood prophet, Meg Corbyn can see the future when her skin is cut—a gift that feels more like a curse. Meg’s Controller keeps her enslaved so he can have full access to her visions. But when she escapes, the only safe place Meg can hide is at the Lakeside Courtyard—a business district operated by the Others.

Shape-shifter Simon Wolfgard is reluctant to hire the stranger who inquires about the Human Liaison job. First, he senses she’s keeping a secret, and second, she doesn’t smell like human prey. Yet a stronger instinct propels him to give Meg the job. And when he learns the truth about Meg and that she’s wanted by the government, he’ll have to decide if she’s worth the fight between humans and the Others that will surely follow.

I really really liked Meg, the main character. She's trying to fit in her new surroundings, and that's written very well. You really feel everything Meg is feeling and you understand everything she's doing. Simon is a really sweet character. Maybe I can't say sweet, because he's a shape-shifter and a alpha. The secondary characters leave a big impression and you want to learn more about everything. About the world they life in, about the characters, about the stories behind everything.

I liked the way the storie developed. There wasn't insta love relationships, and that's a big plus for me. This book was different in so many ways. The whole saga of the blood prophet was very intriguing for me and I could not lay the book apart. I just had to read and read and read more. There was also a lot of humor in it and great action scenes. It's one of the better books I've read this year and luckily there is a part 2, which I read immediately after, because I couldn't get enough of Megan and Simon and the graveyard.Sharhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15988624081274136548noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1908437033065171223.post-28937369053034924792013-11-19T01:00:00.000+01:002013-11-19T01:01:11.011+01:00Fighting Destiny - Amelia HutchinsSerie: the fae chronicles #1
Release date: 2013
Stars: 5/5

Have you ever heard of the old Celtic legends of the Fae - beautiful, magical, and deadly creatures that have a love of messing with humans just for kicks and giggles?

Welcome to my world.

What started out as a strange assignment, lead to one of the most gruesome murder mysteries of our times. My friends and I are set and determined to find out who is killing off Fae and Witches alike.

Couple of problems in the way – I hate the Fae and the Prince of the Dark Fae is bound and determined that I work for him. He’s a rude, overbearing egotistical ass with a compulsive need to possess, dominate and control me. Oh – did I mention that he is absolutely sex-on-a-stick gorgeous and he makes me feel things that I never ever wanted to feel for a Fae...every time he touches me or looks at me with those dangerous golden eyes he seems to pull me further in under his spell, despite my better judgment.

My friends and I can’t trust anyone and nothing is as it seems on the surface – not even me...

So this book made me very very frustated. Let me explain. I never heard of this book of read anything about it, untill I come upon a site (I don't even know which one anymore) that left me hanging with great anticipation for Fighting Destiny. On that site was namely the first three chapters of this book. And the first chapters enthralled me big time. So I though I just have to have this book, but than came the big frustation I could not get it anywhere (I life in Holland, so hey things are more difficult to get here). Three months later I finally got the book en read it in one day. I was really an amazing book, could not get enough of it. Since Julie Kawaga I really like books about the fae and this one didn't dissappoint. I always love a good paranormal romance and Fighting Destiny had plenty of it.

The main character, Syn, is a kick ass heroin (which I love) and you can easy relate to her. She's also very funny. The male character is very hot and sexy and their scenes are just zo great and hot. I really like the romance in the book and the steamy scenes. The characters and the plot are just so well written that I can only want for more. The twists and turns in the book are really suprising and makes you wonder about things that you read in the beginning. The book suprises you at every corner and sucks you into the story. I haven't read the second book yet, but I hope to change that very soon, the end left me quite hanging. Okay.. wow.. it's been a while since I've written any review. I'm going to make it up to you by writing a first review about this hilarious book! Wallbanger by Alice Clayton. God did I laugh out loud a lot while reading this book! I needed a fun, light, fast to read book and this one has that all! I fell in love with everything, the writing, the style, the story, the characters. It was just such an amazing book at the right time in my life.
I read most of it with a big grin om my face, which most of the time I had to explain to my mom hihi. I enjoyed gettint to know the two main characters, Simon and Caroline. They were very likable characters and easy to relate too. They were fun, with endless witty banter en they developed a very nice friendship throughout the book. I really liked the detail with the cat (You have to read the book to catch my meaning).
urge Ellie to claim her place among mythological warriors. Instead of
peace and quiet, there’s suddenly a lot for a girl from L.A. to handle

I really did not like the writing styles, there was just to much description. Ellie is the main character, but she wasn't a likeable character to me, she annoyed me. All the characters didn't do it for me, I might add. They where just so shallow and under developed. I just didn't care what happened to them. Then there was this love story between Tuck and Ellie, it was just there. One day they where friends and then guess what, they became a couple. It was just weird and I really couldn't follow where that came from, they had zero chemistry. I could have been a great story, the concept was very good. After I read Captive in the dark, the first book, I couldn't help but immidiately pick up this book. There is this dark and twisted alure to this serie and I can say with all my heart you really have to read this duet books! If you thought Captive in the Dark was good, you have no idea what's waiting for you in Seduced in the dark. It's just such an amazing story, greatly written and so many unexpected twists and turns that even up until the last few pages, you really don't have a clue how the story is going to end. This book was written very differtently than Captive in the dark, so it was kind of weird in the beginning, but you just can help but get suck right in the story and I don't think the story could have been any better if it was written differently. The story is told in 2 different timelines and alternating POV's. You just have to read the story for yourself to know what I mean. There's such great depth to the story that you don't find very often and I can say that's one of the very great books I have read. It's shocking and all consuming. Like I said in my review of Captive in the Dark, you feel something for the 'bad' guy Caleb and you just can't help but find that shocking, because he has done horrible things, yet you understand him and even grow to care for him. Then the main character Olivia, her story is just horrible and shocking, but also wonderfull. You really don't recognize her from the beginning of Captive in the Dark, she has grown a lot and is a whole different woman than the girl she was before. Then there is a new character, a FBI agent, with his own dark sexual events and I was immidiately curious towards him, I even heard he gets a story of his own. YOU just HAVE to read Captive in the Dark and then Seduced in the Dark, I highly recommened it!!!Sharhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15988624081274136548noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1908437033065171223.post-23237810257600701662013-01-23T11:51:00.004+01:002013-01-23T11:52:30.496+01:00Fire - Kristin Cashore

The book and the character. Fire is the main character and I can say she's a favorite of mine. I really liked Fire as a heroine, she's very independent and has a strong will and character. I also enjoyed Brigan as a character, he has this whole manly charm about him. He's mysterious and hard towards himself, but he can be sweet. I'm kind of disappointed that that was so little romance in the book, only towards the end things where heating up. There's another love interest for Fire, Archer. Don't worry it's not a love triangle, it's one-sided. I really liked Archer, he seemed so carefree, just swinging his way in live. There was much grief and sorrow in the book and I couldn't help but pink a few tears away. I just really like the whole story, the action, the romance, the character development. The Perfect Game tells the story of college juniors, Cassie Andrews & Jack Carter.
Wow the love story of Cassie and Jack is major EPIC! Though they came together rather quickly, I really enjoyed their story and their road. What I enjoyed most was the fact that it was writtin in dual POV's. I like Cassie and Jack both as characters and I like to read about their development throughout the story. The first half of the book was very good and romantic. You have to know, Cassie lives by a set of rules, but than Jack breaks one of them. Which one I'm not gonna tel. The second half of the book however, left me heartbroken. I have to say that I'm glad they aren't both perfect and that you read how they can screw up. It's more realistic that way. I just had to read on and on just to know how the story would end. I also loved the second characters, Melissa and Dean. It was nice to read another love story on the sidelines. The end was really amazing! I really recommened the book!Sharhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15988624081274136548noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1908437033065171223.post-4771762687780990082013-01-13T15:22:00.000+01:002013-01-13T15:22:04.485+01:00Breathe - Abbi Glines

When the family arrives at their summer getaway, Sadie is surprised to learn that the owner of the house is Jax Stone, one of the hottest teen rockers in the world.
I just don't know what to expect with Abbi Glines books. I've read multiple books of her, some very good, some very bad. The writing styles are very different with different books. Breathe was a book I did not like. I think Abbi Glines has very good ideas, with Breathe too, but the writing style and the story just doesn't do it for me. I really am a big sucker for romance, and this book has romance, just not the right one. Let me explain. The main character Sadie is supposed to be this smart, very mature for her age girl (she's 17), yet she doesn't seem that way to me, more like 14. She doesn't see her mother is just a major fuck-up and should be hospitalized. She speaks of herself as someone with no personality, how can someone have none? And then there is Jax, I like his name! But he's a major asshole with overconfidence. And then the way he speaks, uggh! It was instant love and the I love you didn't come much later. I really can't say a positive thing about this book. Do Not Read Breathe!Sharhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15988624081274136548noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1908437033065171223.post-89130639082030598402013-01-13T14:56:00.003+01:002013-01-13T15:00:11.211+01:00Tempting the Player - J. Chad Gamble, all-star pitcher for the Nationals, is one of the best players on—and off—the field. And right now, the notorious bad boy wants Bridget Rodgers. But with her lush curves and snappy comebacks, the feisty redhead is the kind of woman a man wants to settle down with…and that’s the last thing Chad needs. When the paparazzi catch them in a compromising position, Chad’s manager issues an ultimatum: clean up his act or kiss his multi-million dollar contract goodbye.
Being blackmailed into a fake relationship with Chad Gamble isn’t easy, especially when the sizzling physical attraction between them is undeniable.
Pfoeee Tempting the Player is so much hotter and better than Tempting the Best Man. Where the first one was already hot, it was mostly just fun to read. There is just so much to love about this book, it's hard to really know where to start. The main character Bridget is so hilarious. Man, did I have a good laugh at some scenes! She's strong, beautiful (though she doesn't consider herself as beautiful), sweet and she can be very sexy. And hello Chad Gamble, it's really really nice to meet you! I just love the books of Jennifer Armentrout, but when she writes as J. Lynn, I know I'm getting something good, hot and sexy as hell. I really love the Gamble brothers, though it's kind of predictable I loved every minute of it! Tempting the player had more steam and sexual tension than her previous book, which was really fine with me. I loved the story of Bridget & Chad, they where hot together and just bad hehe. Can't wait for the next book!Sharhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15988624081274136548noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1908437033065171223.post-82328723068261625242013-01-13T14:45:00.001+01:002013-01-13T14:59:57.607+01:00A want so wicked - Suzanne Young

After that episode, her life takes a bizarre turn. And although Elise has never had a boyfriend, she suddenly finds herself torn between two handsome but very different young men: Abe, the charming bad boy whose effect on her both seduces and frightens her, and the mysterious Harlin, who’s new to town but with whom Elise feels an urgent, elemental connection—almost as if they are soul mates.
I feel terrible for writing so little and reading so much. I just couldn't find the time for stop the reading and begin the writing. So now I have many reviews to write, though I actually have to prepare for a test tomorrow. Okay A Want So Wicked is the first book I've read of Suzanne Young and when I began this one I really didn't know that it was actually part 2 of the A need so beautiful series. And I have to say, the cover is stunning! I liked this one, I was really intrigued with the story and where it was heading. Maybe it was better that I did not read the first one, because it was more of a mystery for me now. I really like the main character Elise, she's a very likeable character and you can easily relate with her. I really enjoyed to read about her struggle with the need and with the flashbacks. I also liked Harlin, even though I didn't know what his deal was, because I didn't read the first book, I was still intrigued with him. I knew something must have happened between him and a girl and although I figured out what must have happened in book 1, I still wanted to read the first book after this one haha. The plot was fast, and a bit predictable but I stil liked it. I really like Amanda Hocking's writing style and I really am in love with her series, but this one? Not so much. The synopsis and the cover didn't speak to me at all, but I was willing to give it a change. The concept of the story was good, only the story itself was just.. well.. bad and weird. I didn't like the writing style and most of the time I didn't know which one was telling the story. There was a lot of POV switching, unnecassary I might add. I did not like the main character, Gemma. She irritated me and I thought she was kind of dumb. Then there was supposed to be a love interest going on with the main character Gemma and Alex, which I didn't get at all. It was just there, no tension or romance, really it was just weird. I did like the sister sometimes, Harper and her love interest Daniel. Other times she just annoyed me, she was like the overly protective sister or something like that. I don't really know what the story was about, nothing really happened, except for the end. Not recommended! It was just that bad!!Sharhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15988624081274136548noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1908437033065171223.post-11418986859274588622012-12-16T16:46:00.001+01:002012-12-16T16:47:55.217+01:00Opal - Jennifer Armentrout

OMG, Where is the next book, Origin? I need it, like.. right now!!! I liked Opal as much, or maybe more than Onyx. It had way more romance in it and an even sweeter and hotter Daemon in it. I really appreciated all the focus on Katy and Daemon's bond. But Daemon has grown a lot over the past 3 books. Where he was just an asshole in the first one, he was much more open in Opal. He shows a lot more emotions and he's just not the Daemon anymore that makes you want to hit him. Then there's Blake, jep he's back. I just hate him, can't believe they didn't kill him just there and than. I really love Dee, I totally understand her pain over losing Adam and how she's bitchy towards Katy. It's interesting to read about her thirst for revenge and how she deals with everything throughout Opal. The plot was mostly about the group plotting something and mostly about the characters. I really am intrigued with Luc and Paris. What kills me the most about Opal is the end, what a HUGE KILLER CLIFHANGER ENDING! My god I don't know how I'm going to survivi with just my imagination till Origin comes out. Especially the vulnerable side of Daemon at the end is just heartbreaking, and yeah kinda sweet. I really don't know if I should recommend to read it right now, because you just want to hit something because of the end! But hell what a great book! Sharhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15988624081274136548noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1908437033065171223.post-84207312000323188132012-12-14T10:36:00.003+01:002012-12-14T10:37:19.089+01:00Deity - Jennifer Armentrout

The covenant series is one of my favorite series and Deity didn't disappoint! The characters, the plot, the twists and turns and finally the huge cliffhanger were just amazing! Then ofcourse there is the humor and the love which makes Deity so much more than just a good book. The characters are so amazing, they make the story awesome! I really like the main character Alex, she's tough, but she can also be sweet and a little emotional. She's grown a lot trought the Covenant series. You just know that she's destined for greatness. You read about her struggling with her upcoming birthday and thus the upcoming Awakening and you feel just unfair about it all. It's so easy to relate to Alex. And then ofcourse you feel her heartbreak over Aiden and everything is just so hard for her, but she makes everything work out some how. I still like Seth, he's just such a cuddle buddy, but he has a lot of secrets of his own. I really want to figure him out and want to see the good in him, like Alex does. Then ofcourse there is Aiden, can someone love him more? This book just made him that more awesome! I'm team Aiden all the way! Deity is just epic on so many levels! Series: The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten #1
Release date: 2012
Stars: 4/5

Don’t look at Them. Never let Them know you can see Them.

That is Ethan Chase’s unbreakable rule. Until the fey he avoids at all costs—including his reputation—begin to disappear, and Ethan is attacked. Now he must change the rules to protect his family. To save a girl he never thought he’d dare to fall for.

Ethan thought he had protected himself from his older sister’s world—the land of Faery. His previous time in the Iron Realm left him with nothing but fear and disgust for the world Meghan Chase has made her home, a land of myth and talking cats, of magic and seductive enemies. But when destiny comes for Ethan, there is no escape from a danger long, long forgotten.

Julie Kawaga has done it again. I was once again sucked into the world of the Iron Fey. The Lost Prince is a spin-off of Ethan, the little brother of Megan from my favorite serie the Iron Fey. I really really enjoyed this book. I loved to hear from Ethan and has he grown up! Though his story is very sad, dark en depressing, I really liked to know how his life was en how his journey took place. I really liked the new characters and that they got the main attention. Sure we got to meet the old characters again and I really enjoyed that. There can never be too much of Puck, right?! But the story is about Ethan and the new characters. Ethan has changed a lot.. He hates the fairies', because they kind of destroyed his life. But then Ethan gets involved with a new kind of fairies, 'The Forgotten' and he finds himself in the Nevernever. From there of on his journey begins. You can see him change and you relate so easily with him. There is a lot of action, new friendships and ofcourse there is a love interest! Then there is this interesting character Keirran, I'm not gonna spoil who that is, but gosh I loved him and I had it spot on with my speculations about who he was. All I want to way is that if you love the Iron fey series, you just have to read the Lost Prince!
singular interest in revenge. Kidnapped as a young boy and sold into
slavery by a power-hungry mobster, he has thought of nothing but
vengeance. For twelve years he has immersed himself in the world of
pleasure slaves searching for the one man he holds ultimately
responsible. Finally, the architect of his suffering has emerged with a
new identity, but not a new nature. If Caleb is to get close enough to
strike, he must become the very thing he abhors and kidnap a beautiful
girl to train her to be all that he once was.

Eighteen-year-old
Olivia Ruiz has just woken up in a strange place. Blindfolded and bound,
there is only a calm male voice to welcome her. His name is Caleb,
though he demands to be called Master. Olivia is young, beautiful, naïve
and willful to a fault. She has a dark sensuality that cannot be hidden
or denied, though she tries to accomplish both. Although she is
frightened by the strong, sadistic, and arrogant man who holds her
prisoner, what keeps Olivia awake in the dark is her unwelcome
attraction to him.

I really don't read much erotica, but I was quite intrigued with the synopsis and decided to read this one. It was a very dark and disturbing, but interesting book! That still doesn't do it justice. It was quite a captivating story and it takes you to dark places. It keeps you thinking and it's just WHOA!
The main character is Olivia, she has a very sad background story. Her mother has branded her a whore her whole life, despite the fact that Olivia is still a virgin. You learn how far Olivia was willing to go to please her mother and how she falls in love with her abuser and captiver! You'are just waiting for her to crack! The other character, Caleb is the one that captived Olivia. We should hate him, he is a sadistic, abusive basterd, but we learn a lot about Caleb and we hear his thoughts and understand what is going on in his head and how he had an afwul past. But justify that his actions? It's very hard to just see him as the arrogant asshole that he is. You read about Olivia falling in love with him and you start to wonder why but can't help but see the light in his darkness too. You see why the story is disturbing? I mean how can you enjoy the book, when it's that disturbing? How can I enjoy it? I still don't know, I just had to know more and that kept me reading and yes even enjoying the story. Make no mistake, it's not a love story, it's a dark and taboo ridding story! Captive in the dark is full of conflicting emotions and the whole story is kind of controversial and you keep thinking about it. I find it very hard to write a review about it. I really am looking forward the read the second part, Seduced in the Dark and I really recommened Captive in the Dark! Sharhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15988624081274136548noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1908437033065171223.post-62672813734224783652012-10-30T13:46:00.001+01:002012-10-30T13:46:45.525+01:00A Fractured Light - Jocelyn Davies

The cover is nice, as was the first one! The book however, is a huge disappointment! It had a ton of awesome potential, but most of it failed hard, only the end is suprisingly good. The suprising twist in the end should have been there throughout the entire book, maybe than it wasn't that bad. The book starts good and ends good, but the middle is lost to me. It took me 3 weeks to read the whole thing. I just couldn't put myself to finish it. The whole choosing thing for Skye with boys and sides, we had that already in the first book. It was kind of boring and really that was what the book was about. We didn't learn more about the Rebellion or the Order for that matter. Maybe the fans who love the first book, will love this second book, but I really can't imagine someone enjoyed it. Wow how I enjoyed this book! I've been very busy lately so I hadn't had time to write a lot of reviews. But I'm going to make it up to you the next few weeks! So Graceling, it's been a while when I read this one, but I remember the story quite well. I just loved so much about this book, I don't even know where to start. The story is well writen, with very fun and interesting characters to read about. Katsa, the main character, is a very strong female character. She's independent and has a fierce determination. I really like books where the female character isn't the damsel in distress and can't think of her own. I instantly liked her, but I didn't agree with her take on everything. Like how she sees mariage as a prison. Also, Kristin Cashore displayes eveyrthing girly as a bad thing, I don't agree with that. I think you can be a tough ass girl, but also wear dresses or make up. The other important character in Graceling, was Po. I really liked him! The reason for all of his jewelry wearing, was a very interesting story. Cashore suprised me with her talent for writing with the development of the love story between Po and Katsa. I wasn't a instant love thing, but it developed slowly. The story was sometimes predictable, but many other times not. Some scenes where kind of sad, while others where funny and loving. The ending was just right, not rushed like many other books. I'm just so much in love with this book! If you've not yet read Graceling, please do so immediately! Sharhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15988624081274136548noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1908437033065171223.post-45655637229039311392012-10-09T13:22:00.001+02:002012-10-09T13:23:54.769+02:00Inbetween - Tara FullerSerie: Kissed by Death #1
Since the car crash that
took her father’s life three years ago, Emma’s life has been a freaky —
and unending — lesson in caution. Surviving “accidents” has taken
priority over being a normal seventeen-year-old, so Emma spends her days
taking pictures of life instead of living it. Falling in love with a
boy was never part of the plan. Falling for a reaper who makes her chest
ache and her head spin? Not an option.

It’s not easy being dead,
especially for a reaper in love with a girl fate has put on his list
not once, but twice. Finn’s fellow reapers give him hell about spending
time with Emma, but Finn couldn’t let her die before, and he’s not about
to let her die now. He will protect the girl he loves from the evil he
accidentally unleashed, even if it means sacrificing the only thing he
has left…his soul.

This was also a book I waited long enough for, and this one I actually liked. The blurb of Inbetween really took me in and I couldn't wait for the book. The plot line of this book reminded me of some other angel books, like Fallen. Where the girl is bein reincarnated as a human who doesn't remember anything from her past life and the guy who knows and remembers everything. So the story wasn't very original but it had still some unique stuff in it, so that I find it enjoyable.
The characters are very interesting. The main characters are Finn and Emma. It's written from a dual perspective, which I really enjoyed! Finn is and endearing and intersting character. He has all t his guilt and sadness hanging around him, about the things that he did in the past. His love for Emma was very heartbreaking and touching. Emma was likeable, but kind of boring. The love between the two of them was sweet, but I would have liked it to develop slower. I wanted to learn more about the past love between them, but you got so little. It's kind of a sad love story. I just love seeing two character fall in love, how is developes and grows. But in this book that already happened in the past, so now it was just quick.
The second characters are something. I really liked them and they sure made an impression! The story is very enjoyable and readable. The ending was a bit too nice in my opinion, but I really recommend the book!Sharhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15988624081274136548noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1908437033065171223.post-14830275773250464252012-10-09T12:57:00.002+02:002012-10-09T12:57:41.297+02:00Silver - Talia Vance

Silver was a book I was eagerly waiting for. The story seemed very interesting and unique. I really really wanted to love this book, but it ended up to be a huge disappointment. The story itself was okay, it was loaded with very interesting mythology and the writing wasn't all that bad. That's where the good stuff ends. Okay so first of all, the girlfriends. My god, they can't seriously be calling themselves friends. They where so shallow and just stereotypical. They treat the main character Brianna like shit. Then there was the fact that there was something going on with the mother of Haley, the leader of the group, but it was just that bad that it wasn't even interesting. Then there is the other friends Christy, who is just a slut and hasn't an opinion of herself. And what to say about the main character Brianna, she's ofcourse this beautiful girl who thinks she really is ugly. She got this bracelet her grandma gave her to wear to make herself look plain. The characters where just very unrealistic. Okay enough about the characters, there was also a love interest going on. Mostly they can make the book good, well not so much luck here. There was really a bad love triangle going on. There is Blake and there is Austin. Blake treats her like crap, but ofcourse she's in love with him. I really really didn't understand their connection. I couldn't feel the love between them, it was more like okay she should fall in love with him and so that's that. The other guy is Austin, I really liked him. He's sarcastic (which I mostly am and like) and just goes for her, but ofcourse she can't date him because her friends won't let her. So underneath all that crappy characterizations and love themes there was a story going on. The story itself wasn't so bad, but it didn't seem like the main point in the book. I have to say I enjoyed the mythology and the writing, but that's about it. I won't be reading the next one in this series.Sharhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15988624081274136548noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1908437033065171223.post-10489523363677463262012-09-18T12:22:00.000+02:002012-09-18T12:38:04.896+02:00Eve - Anna Carey Serie: Eve #1
The year is 2032,
sixteen years after a deadly virus—and the vaccine intended to protect
against it—wiped out most of the earth’s population. The night before
eighteen-year-old Eve’s graduation from her all-girls school she
discovers what really happens to new graduates, and the horrifying fate
that awaits her.

Fleeing the only home she’s ever known, Eve
sets off on a long, treacherous journey, searching for a place she can
survive. Along the way she encounters Caleb, a rough, rebellious boy
living in the wild. Separated from men her whole life, Eve has been
taught to fear them, but Caleb slowly wins her trust...and her heart. He
promises to protect her, but when soldiers begin hunting them, Eve must
choose between true love and her life.

It's kind of a disturbing story. First of all, the world building is kind of bad. I found it hard to believe that America could sink so low after just 16 years. I'm still not sure what kind of world it is that Eve lived it. Sure there was a plaque and that wiped most of the humans out and then they have to repopulate the world. The girls learn that man are bad and they have to stay in school. So that's where Eve is, almost 18 and ready for graduating. But then she finds out, that after graduating she can't be anything she wants to be. No! There is a horrifying fate waiting for her. So she escapes. I didn't like Eve at all. She's so shallow and really she ought to be smart (she was the smartest at school), but I didn't see it. For example, she thinks a baby bear looks like Winnie the Pooh. My god girl! And then all the hesitation, should I go with Caleb, should I do did, that? Then the part where she almost got raped and Caleb walks in on it and asks her if she liked the guy? She hesitates and then says I don't know. What that fuck was that? Can't she just tell, I was seconds away from being raped! Make up your mind girl! Like I said, she's almost 18, but it really looked like she was 12. She didn't know anything, she hung on Arden like that was her mother or something. Then ofcourse there is this hero guy Caleb. I have to say, I did like Caleb! He's not the over protective one. He's just a sweet guy, who really likes Eve. He's just saying everything how it is. Like when Caleb doesn't want Eve to go somewhere he just says it, but lets her make the decision. What I also liked in the book was the writing style. While the world building was lacking, the details of some scenes where beautifully written. It was an easy read! And then the ending, I hated it. I don't recommened the book and I'm sure as hell not going to read the next one.
Sharhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15988624081274136548noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1908437033065171223.post-49648153009956150682012-09-17T16:37:00.001+02:002012-09-18T12:38:24.721+02:00City of Lost Souls - Cassandra Clare

Finally the series contains City of Lost Souls. This book is much better than the last two. While the last two books I found myself skimming parts just to get over with it. With this installment, I found myself really wanting to keep reading. The only thing I found very annoying is the main character, Clary. She keept wining about losing Jace. And I get that, but really it took way too long. And that makes her age also an issue, because her 16 years doens't make it very believable. Lost Souls had much more meaningfull actions, scenes, conversations etc than the other books. Even though the book is a very long one, it never once stopped me for wanting more. I really liked in The Mortal Instruments, but especially in this book that there are so many characters you fall in love with. Like I said before, they all have that one something that makes them unique and loving and caring. I really like Isabelle and Simon, they are great together. I like how Clare writes about them, how difficult it is for both of them to start a relationship and how Clare not makes it a instant love, everything is great thing. I really like the gay couple Alec/Magnus, they bring the humor in the book, but Alec also add a very serious aspect. Overall, Lost Souls is a great improvement over Fallen Angels. I'm really looking forward to the last book in the series and ofcourse the movies!Sharhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15988624081274136548noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1908437033065171223.post-79438989107008571332012-09-17T16:25:00.004+02:002012-09-18T12:33:12.455+02:00City of Fallen Angels - Cassandra ClareSeries: The Mortal Instruments #4
After the disappointment of City of Glass, I hoped that City of Fallen Angels turned out to be better. It wasn't much better. I mean I still like the series and the plot and everything is okay. The world of the shadowhunters is very good and unique and I really liked it, but I think this is an example of a series what should've ended sooner. It keeps dragging on. In the beginning of City of Fallen Angels everything is good. The war is over, Clary and Jace can be together. Simon has kind of accepted everything. Her mother is okay and marrying Luke. But than, suprise! Someone is spoiling everything and killing along his way. With Simon everything turns out to be bad. Jace isn't a great boyfriend anymore. Everything is falling apart. And who is the cause? It's kind of predictable and yet I keep reading the series, because the writing style is great. The characters are nice and the plot is okay. I really am curious to see how the movies are turning out to be! I still think the first two books are the better ones in The Mortal Instruments.Sharhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15988624081274136548noreply@blogger.com0
