Fighting Destiny - Amelia Hutchins

17927559Serie: the fae chronicles #1
Release date: 2013
Stars: 5/5

Have you ever heard of the old Celtic legends of the Fae - beautiful, magical, and deadly creatures that have a love of messing with humans just for kicks and giggles?

Welcome to my world.

What started out as a strange assignment, lead to one of the most gruesome murder mysteries of our times. My friends and I are set and determined to find out who is killing off Fae and Witches alike.

Couple of problems in the way – I hate the Fae and the Prince of the Dark Fae is bound and determined that I work for him. He’s a rude, overbearing egotistical ass with a compulsive need to possess, dominate and control me. Oh – did I mention that he is absolutely sex-on-a-stick gorgeous and he makes me feel things that I never ever wanted to feel for a Fae...every time he touches me or looks at me with those dangerous golden eyes he seems to pull me further in under his spell, despite my better judgment.

My friends and I can’t trust anyone and nothing is as it seems on the surface – not even me...

So this book made me very very frustated. Let me explain. I never heard of this book of read anything about it, untill I come upon a site (I don't even know which one anymore) that left me hanging with great anticipation for Fighting Destiny. On that site was namely the first three chapters of this book. And the first chapters enthralled me big time. So I though I just have to have this book, but than came the big frustation I could not get it anywhere (I life in Holland, so hey things are more difficult to get here). Three months later I finally got the book en read it in one day. I was really an amazing book, could not get enough of it. Since Julie Kawaga I really like books about the fae and this one didn't dissappoint. I always love a good paranormal romance and Fighting Destiny had plenty of it.

The main character, Syn, is a kick ass heroin (which I love) and you can easy relate to her. She's also very funny. The male character is very hot and sexy and their scenes are just zo great and hot. I really like the romance in the book and the steamy scenes. The characters and the plot are just so well written that I can only want for more. The twists and turns in the book are really suprising and makes you wonder about things that you read in the beginning. The book suprises you at every corner and sucks you into the story. I haven't read the second book yet, but I hope to change that very soon, the end left me quite hanging.

Wallbanger - Alice Clayton

Caroline Reynolds has a fantastic new apartment in San Francisco, a KitchenAid mixer, and no O (and we’re not talking Oprah here, folks). She has a flourishing design career, an office overlooking the bay, a killer zucchini bread recipe, and no O. She has Clive (the best cat ever), great friends, a great rack, and no O.

Adding insult to O-less, since her move, she has an oversexed neighbor with the loudest late-night wallbanging she’s ever heard. Each moan, spank, and–was that a meow?–punctuates the fact that not only is she losing sleep, she still has, yep, you guessed it, no O.

Enter Simon Parker. (No, really, Simon, please enter.) When the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. Their late-night hallway encounter has, well, mixed results. Ahem. With walls this thin, the tension’s gonna be thick…

Okay.. wow.. it's been a while since I've written any review. I'm going to make it up to you by writing a first review about this hilarious book! Wallbanger by Alice Clayton. God did I laugh out loud a lot while reading this book! I needed a fun, light, fast to read book and this one has that all! I fell in love with everything, the writing, the style, the story, the characters. It was just such an amazing book at the right time in my life.
I read most of it with a big grin om my face, which most of the time I had to explain to my mom hihi. I enjoyed gettint to know the two main characters, Simon and Caroline. They were very likable characters and easy to relate too. They were fun, with endless witty banter en they developed a very nice friendship throughout the book. I really liked the detail with the cat (You have to read the book to catch my meaning).
If you're looking for a simple, fun read, you'll probably enjoy this one!
