Blood Rites - Quinn Loftis

Serie: The Grey Wolves #2
Release date: 2011

With the challenge complete and the corrupt Alpha of Coldspring defeated Fane is now free to complete the mate bond with Jacque and perform the Blood Rites. Although the challenge is done, the affects are far reaching. Once it is known that Vasile, one of the strongest Alphas in the world is in America, specifically Coldspring, TX, there is one Alpha who cannot over look the significance of this. An Alpha who happens to share Jacque's DNA, but is this the one she needs to fear?

With her mom driving and her two best friends, Jen and Sally in tow, Jacque sets off for her happily ever after. She will soon realize a plan has been put in motion that will change her course and possibly tear her from Fane's grasp forever. It will take a wolf pack, her mother's love, her two best friend's unrelenting determination, her own will to survive and the undying love of her mate to bring her home. The question remains, if she fights, if she endures, who will she be, what will be left once she is back in her mates arms?

I wanted to give this book a shot after I read the first book in this serie. While I thought the cover of the first book was amazing, I did not like the cover of this one. So what I did not like in the first book was the grammar and dialog, but in this one there was a huge improvement on the grammer and dialog. So the reading became more pleasont. Also the story was very great, you got to know more about Jacque's father and I really liked that. The scene with the Blood Rites/Marriage was just great, it was beautifully written and intimate. What I really really liked about this one is the tension between Jen and Decebel. How awesome are they? You don't know if they are mates or not, you suspect it, but there aren't really any signs. The tension is just building and building and really they are great together. Still there were a few things about this book that were kind of unrealistic. First of all, the parents of Jen and Sally. Really, they let their children just move to romania because of her friend? And then the hospital scene. There is aggresion, drinking and when Jacque wakes up everything is just fine. I am also a bid sad that Jacque stays human, I kind of hoped with the blood rites and all that she would change or something like that. This book is a huge improvement over the first book and I can't wait for the third one.
