Torment - Lauren Kate

Torment (Fallen, #2)
Series: Fallen #2
Release date: 2010

Hell on earth.

That’s what it’s like for Luce to be apart from her fallen angel boyfriend, Daniel.
It took them an eternity to find one another, but now he has told her he must go away. Just long enough to hunt down the Outcasts—immortals who want to kill Luce. Daniel hides Luce at Shoreline, a school on the rocky California coast with unusually gifted students: Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans.

At Shoreline, Luce learns what the Shadows are, and how she can use them as windows to her previous lives. Yet the more Luce learns, the more she suspects that Daniel hasn’t told her everything. He’s hiding something—something dangerous.
What if Daniel’s version of the past isn’t actually true? What if Luce is really meant to be with someone else?

Another beautiful cover!  After I read the first book I did not know what to expect about this one. I already learned that the cover doesn't say anything about the book. I liked it better than the first one, but the characters in this one are kind of whining and disappointing. The story by itself it very good and original. The book continues with the tragic romance between Luce, a human, and Daniel, a fallen angel. Their love is heartbreaking, because they cannot be together because then Luce dies. It's a curse, only this time something has changed. So it's about whether they can break the curse or not. I didn't like Luce in this one, she is only whining about missing Daniel and how unfair life is.
But still I'm a sucker for romance stories, so I will read the third one. Besides, there was a huge cliffhanger on the end, so I have to see what's going to happen next!
