Prince of Wolves - Quinn Loftis

Serie: The Grey Wolves #1
Release date: 2011

Jaque Pierce was just an ordinary 17 year old girl getting ready to start her senior year in high school in Coldspring, Texas. When a mysterious foreign exchange student from Romania moves in across the street, Jacque and her two best friends, Sally and Jen, don't realize the last two weeks of their summer was going to get a lot more interesting. From the moment Jacque sets eyes on Fane she feels an instant connection, a pull like a moth to a flame. Little does she know that the flame she is drawn to is actually a Canis lupis, werewolf, and she just happens to be his mate; the other half of his soul. The problem is Fane is not the only wolf in Coldspring, Texas. Just as Fane and Jacque are getting to know each other, another wolf steps out to try and claim Jacque as his mate. Fane will now have to fight for the right to complete the mating bond, something that is his right by birth but is being denied him by a crazed Alpha. Will the love Fane has for Jacque be enough to give him the strength to defeat his enemy, will Jacque accept that she is Fane's mate and complete the bond between them?

First of all, the cover, it is just drop dead georgeous! I liked the story, but the dialogue was really annoying sometimes. I got tired of the way Jacque and her friends talked and made comments about everything. Also, I did not find it realistic that when Jacque told her friends she heard a voice they just accepted it. The more I got into the book, the funnier it get. The sarcasm was too much in the book, it seemed that in every conversation Jacque had to make a sarcastic comment. It was kind of annoying when someone tried to explain things and Jacque or her friends were making all sorts of comments. Everyone acted like the girls were funny, but really could they not just shut up for a few minutes! I really liked Fane, he is easy to fall for. He is very mature for his age and sexy. So Jacque is his mate and the love between the two of them is easy and nice to read about. I just wished that Jacque would become a wolf to, but unfortunately she stays human. That I did not like if it wasn't obvious. The mother was also kind of strange. She did not say much, while she has all those wolves in her house and she just acts like it is all normal. I found that weird. Besides everything above, I liked the story. It was refreshing, with the whole wolve concept and the mate concept. I'm going to give the second book a try.
