Spellbound - Cara Lynn Shultz

Spellbound (Spellbound, #1)Serie: Spellbound #1
Release date: 2011

What's a girl to do when meeting The One means she's cursed to die a horrible death?

Life hasn't been easy on sixteen-year-old Emma Connor, so a new start in New York may be just the change she needs. But the posh Upper East Side prep school she has to attend? Not so much. Friendly faces are few and far between, except for one that she's irresistibly drawn to—Brendan Salinger, the guy with the rock-star good looks and the richest kid in school, who might just be her very own white knight.
But even when Brendan inexplicably turns cold, Emma can't stop staring. Ever since she laid eyes on him, strange things have been happening. Streetlamps go out wherever she walks, and Emma's been having the oddest dreams: visions of herself in past lives—visions that warn her to stay away from Brendan. Or else.

A couple of weeks ago I read this one. It was an likeable book, easy to read, fast, fun and oke. It had al the cliche's of a paranormal YA romance books, but sometimes you just want to read something fast and fun. Well this book is. The plot was not unexpected, girl meets hot boy and he has this big secret. Emma, the main character is smart, funny and I liked her. She seems she can handle her own and stand up for what she believes in. She even picked a fight with a guy twice her heigt, I liked that about her. She is strong and doesn't need anyone. And then there is ofcourse the boy, Brendan. He is sexy and funny. I like the way his and Emma's relationship grows. Luckily it wasn't love at first side crap, but more I have to deal with the feelings I have. It was a fun book to read, but not really memorable. I'm not sure if I'm going to read the second book.
